Serial Rapist May Have Attacked Clayton Teen

MORROW, Ga. — Police believe the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl is the latest attack by a serial rapist targeting women in Clayton County apartments.

Police released a sketch of the suspect and plan a series of meetings to warn residents about the attacks.

"He is linked to other cases," said Officer Otis Willis of the Clayton County Police Department.

In the latest incident, a man climbed in the window of an apartment at the Marquis at Mt. Zion apartments in Morrow early Saturday. Armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, he sexually assaulted the teen and then asked her for money.

"Whenever you're committing a crime like that, of course, you're dangerous," said Willis. "When you start bringing firearms into the scenario, you make it even worse."

Detectives believe the same man raped women in apartment complexes on Garden Walk Boulevard, Mt. Zion Road, Southlake Parkway and Georgia Highway 138 since December 2008.

The first public meetings about the attack will be held at the Marquis at Mt. Zion apartments at 6 p.m. Wednesday and noon Saturday.

The man is described as a black man about 5 feet 7 inches and about 30 years old, with a slim to medium build and dark complexion. He may have bad teeth that he tries to hide with his upper lip when talking, according to police.

"Someone has seen this guy out there and we need to get him off the street," said Willis.

Anyone with information should call the police tip line at 770-473-5400.
