DECATUR, Ga.,None — A riot broke out at the DeKalb County Regional Youth Detention Center in Decatur on Wednesday night, Channel 2 confirmed.

The riot broke out in a housing unit around 8 p.m., a detention center representative said.Channel 2 cameras were rolling as SWAT team members from the DeKalb County Police Department stormed the center.

Channel 2's John Bachman was at the scene and said the SWAT team was inside for about 45 minutes. Several juveniles were taken out of the building in handcuffs.

Five staff members and a few juveniles received minor injuries during a scuffle inside, the representative said.

Officials are investigating what prompted the riot situation. They said they may pursue charges against those at fault.
