ATLANTA — The latest InsiderAdvantage/WSB poll in Georgia's Republican race for governor shows Karen Handel in the lead – and John Oxendine, who was the perceived front-runner for months, in third place.
Voters were asked if the election to determine the Republican nominee for Governor of Georgia were held today, which candidate would they vote for?
Handel came out on top with 24 percent of those polled saying they would vote for her. On Monday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin endorsed Handel.
Nathan Deal came in second with 16 percent, followed closely by Oxendine with 15 percent and Johnson with 13 percent.
Ray McBerry and Otis Putnam rounded out the poll with 3 percent and 1 percent, respectively.
