Police: Drugs, Cash, Pit Bull Pens Found In Home

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — Officers raided a home in Gwinnett County and found drugs, cash and more than a dozen pit bulls in backyard pens, police said.

Gwinnett County SWAT and narcotics officers used a search warrant to enter the home on Dallas Way near Lawrenceville on Friday.

Officers said they found 347 grams of crack cocaine, 173 grams of powder cocaine and 32 grams of marijuana along with $684 in cash.

Outside the home, officers said they found a line of 14 dog kennels and pens with a number of pit bulls. Animal Control officers checked out the dogs and said they had food and water and appeared to be in good health, but they did issue one citation for animal neglect.

Animal Control officers did not to confiscate the dogs but said they would return to the home later to make sure family members were still caring for the pit bulls.

Police charged Daunte Holland, 38, with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Holland was held in the Gwinnett County Jail.

Gwinnett County Quality of Life code enforcement officers also inspected the home and issued four citations to Holland for ordinance violations.
