CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Clayton County teen is accused of sending an explicit photo through a text message, Channel 2 Action News reporter Mark Winne has learned.
According to legal documents, Malcolm Radcliff, 17, was charged with distribution of obscene materials. He is accused of sending a naked photo of himself to a 16-year-old female.
Radcliff forwarded the image to the teen and it was also seen by teachers and a school resource officer, according to a statement from a Forest Park Police Detective.
Channel 2 Action News reporter Mark Winne spoke with Radcliff's family about the incident.
"When I heard about it I was in shock because Malcolm is a Christian and he didn't make a good decision," Radcliff's mother, Patricia Mahone said.
"He's never been in trouble with the law before," said the Rev. James Tukes Sr., Radcliff's brother.
"It's something that will stick around," said Tasha Mosley, Clayton County Solicitor. "If it gets on the Internet and if these children later on wish to become president of the United States, I'm quite sure somebody will be more than happy to use it against them in their campaign. And they need to understand, it stays around forever."
"There is a lesson here for other kids," said Mahone. "Kids, wise up. Use the phone wisely, use the Internet wisely."
Radcliff was released on bond, Channel 2 confirmed.
