GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A Gwinnett County mother is joining the chorus of parents complaining about a new version of Pampers diapers. The Consumer Products Safety Commission this week began investigating reports that Pampers with DryMax are causing burns and diaper rash.
"I read on y'all's website that this was going on and I knew immediately that had to be it," said Buford mother Alyson Mitchell. She said her 9-month-old daughter, Payton, broke out in persistent rashes while wearing the diapers, but suffered no rash when using a store brand.
"They need to do something because I'm sure I'm not the only mother out there," said Mitchell. A Facebook discussion page for parents to vent about the diapers has 4,000 members. Federal investigators are asking parents to contact the CPSC if they suspect the diapers are causing rashes or burns on their babies.

Procter and Gamble issued a statement saying: "There is no evidence from the people that have called us -- or from the research that we have done -- that a single baby has experienced a skin safety issue as a result of our Pampers with Dry Max."
