BRANSON WEST, Mo. — A Missouri man did not get to pass go, but he did go straight to jail. Unfortunately, it was real jail and not the spot on a Monopoly board.
According to the Stone County Sheriff's Department, John Litton, 69, participated in an annual Monopoly tournament with others in the community. Tournament organizers told Litton he would not be invited to participate in this year's tournament due to unsportsmanlike behavior at the event last year.
A disgruntled Litton arrived at the 7th annual Stone County OACAC Monopoly Tournament in Branson West, where he started a fight with the organizers after hearing their decision, according to police.
He was arrested Friday and charged with multiple counts of third-degree assault.
No serious injuries were reported.
