Middle School Teacher Charged In Undercover Child Porn Ring

WOODSTOCK, Ga.,None — A teacher at Woodstock's Mill Creek Middle School has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

"The children in our community must be protected from those who would victimize them in child pornography," U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said. "Although all child pornography cases are tragic because of their victims, this case was even more troubling because the defendant taught in a middle school where he had daily interaction with children."

Authorities began investigating 55-year-old Raymond "Robin" Watts, of Kingston, early this year, U.S. Department of Justice spokesman Patrick Crosby said in a news release. He said an undercover law enforcement agent met with Watts several times after authorities suspected he had explicit images of children, in particular, boys.

During one of the meetings, Watts provided numerous images of child pornography to the agent, Crosby said. Authorities later found hundreds of sexually explicit images of children on Watts' computer, Crosby said.

Watts made his first court appearance on Thursday. He is scheduled for an arraignment and bond hearing at 2:30 p.m. March 1.
