ATLANTA — Severe Weather Team 2 will be at WeatherFest on Sunday, January 17, 2010, from 12-4 p.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center.
WeatherFest is an interactive four-hour science and weather fair free to the public.
Come out and meet Channel 2's Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns, with Meteorologists David Chandley, Karen Minton and Brad Nitz.
They will demonstrate high tech storm tracking technology and Stormtracker 2 3-D. Attendees can perform their own weathercast on Channel 2 Action News and learn how to program a weather radio.
WeatherFest visitors also can take part in science experiments such as making tornadoes in a bottle, building an anemometer, learning how surface ocean currents develop, exploring the physics of lightning and lightning safety, making clouds, and using a parachute to explain some unique atmospheric properties.
