Man Claims Former Brave Pointed Gun At His Head

ATLANTA — A middle Georgia man is accusing a former Atlanta Brave of holding a gun to his head and threatening to kill him.

James McDaniel filed suit in Houston County claiming former Braves outfielder Ryan Klesko threatened to harm him and his family.

According to the lawsuit, James McDaniel makes a lot of accusations, none of which are backed up by the police.

The lawsuit details the intense business dispute between former brave Ryan Klesko and his rental property manager James McDaniel.

Klesko and his company filed a report with the Warner Robins Police Department last September, accusing McDaniel of fraud.

"McDaniel made personal purchases for items from meals to personal vacations in Florida. None of these expenditures was approved," the lawsuit said.

Warner Robins police said they dropped the case when it proved to be "unfounded."

Two weeks later, McDaniel filed his own report claiming Klesko put a loaded gun to his head while the two sat in a car.

"I remember the gun being cold and pushing on my temple. He told me that if I ever mess with him, steal from him, he would kill me," McDaniel said in the report.

Warner Robins police said they never investigated that claim because McDaniel told them his own lawyer would pursue the case in civil court.

Channel 2 Action News did attempt to contact Klesko at his business office and the Dunwoody attorney for McDaniel. Neither of them returned the calls.

Warner Robins police said they did not pursue criminal charges in either case.
