Woman says robber pointed gun at baby's head

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are looking for gunmen who robbed a woman, her daughter and baby son while they were sitting in a car on a northwest Atlanta street Tuesday night.

"One was pointing a gun at me, and I looked to the right, and saw there was another guy in the back, holding a gun to my son's head," said Sheila.

Sheila, who asked her last name be withheld, told Channel 2's Tom Regan that her car broke down while she was visiting a friend on Holly Street. She obtained another car and went to attempt to repair her vehicle. While she was parked with her daughter and 1-year-old son in the back seat, two men rushed the car and opened the doors.

"I was just scared with my kids in the car. I thought they were going to kill us. I was just praying in my mind, 'Please, just protect the kids,'" said Sheila.

Sheila said her daughter covered her brother's face, so he couldn't see the gun that was pointed at him.

The two men, who wore ski masks, emptied the victim's purse, stole cellphones, car keys and then ran off.  Atlanta police said they are pursuing good leads in the case. The mother and daughter are hopeful the robbers are caught before they hurt anyone.

"I just couldn't believe it, that someone would rob two women and a baby. It's just horrible. It's just horrible," said Sheila.
