COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has confirmed a woman was robbed outside a Cobb County shopping center and then shot.
Investigators said they were called out the Akers Mill Shopping Center shortly after 9 p.m. Monday.
Officers said a woman was near the Sports Authority store when she was attacked and shot in the mouth.
Channel 2's Carl Willis said the crime scene cleared out fast Monday night, but investigators seemed to concentrate their investigation surrounding a Volkswagen car.
The popular and busy shopping center on Cobb Parkway is not far from the Cumberland Mall and where the new Braves stadium is being built.
Shoppers told Willis they were stunned to learn about such a bold attack.
Police have taken evidence from the crime scene and have processed the Volkswagen.
Investigators said they are still looking for the suspect who ran from the scene.
