ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A woman injured in an Alpharetta house fire has died.
The Fulton County medical examiner said Yvonne Crisp, 52, was the woman pulled from the home. An autopsy will be performed on Monday.
Flames broke out at the home on Clipper Bay Drive around 6 a.m. Saturday. Crisp was taken to the hospital in serious condition after being trapped inside.
The fire department said the home was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived. When firefighters got on the scene they heard screams from inside the home and quickly began a search.
Police said the woman inside had called 911 and was on the phone with them as she lost consciousness.
Firefighters found the woman in an upstairs bedroom and were able to rescue her as the roof collapsed.
