MARQUETTE, Mich. — Winter has come early in northern Michigan.
More than 2 inches of snow fell in Marquette, Michigan, overnight, according to the National Weather Service, coating the fall leaves with a thin layer of winter snow.
The city saw about 2.5 inches of snow, the NWS said -- marking the highest daily total this early in the season since Oct. 17, 1976.
