DEKALB COUNTY, Ga,None — The widow of a store clerk who was killed last week at a DeKalb County convenience store says she is about to be evicted from her apartment.
A robber shot and killed Damodar Pathak at the BP Food Mart on Cedar Grove Road last Monday night. Now his widow, Sherri Pathak, is packing up with just hours to move out of the family's apartment
Pathak told Channel 2's Diana Davis she and her husband were behind on the rent before he was killed.
"We may have to go to a shelter, you know. I don't have any other options. No one to really turn to," she said.
Pathak said she's angry her husband lost his life trying to protect a store. Police say Earlin Turner, 52, came into the store and shot Pathak as he entered the store's game room area. Turner was arrested on Thursday.
I'm very angry. I'm very angry because he was a workaholic. I just feel he served so much more, he deserved more money for all the time he spent. He didn't get to enjoy life that everyone else does because his main focus was always work," Pathak told Davis. "Work, work, work. He worked 16-, 18-hour days."

The couple married three years ago, and Pathak says Damodar, who she called Peter, was a great husband to her and her two children. When she didn't hear from him Monday night she had a bad feeling.
"I was waiting on him to come home and didn't get an answer. I continued to call and continued to call and the next morning someone called me and said a clerk at the BP where Peter works was killed," she told Davis through tears.
Pathrak told Davis she can't accept his death and the fact that he won't walk through the front door at any minute.
"If I would have known this was going to happen I just would have made an effort to be there at the store with him but I didn't know," she said. "I just wanted that last opportunity to say good bye."
