ATLANTA,None — Volunteers began serving the 41st annual Hosea Feed the Hungry Christmas feast on Sunday morning.
Volunteers arrived at the DeKalb County Jail at 4 p.m. to start work on the meal, which will be served on Christmas Day to more than 30,000 people, and consists of more than 800 turkeys.
The meal is being served at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Volunteers worked late into the night and all morning Sunday to prepare meals to be served, and also delivered to the homes of needy families.
The event also provides attendees with clothes, haircuts, entertainment and the opportunity to call loved ones.
