Tripp Halstead had 'absolute best day' since surgery

ATLANTA — The parents of Tripp Halstead announced their son had the "absolute best day ever" since his surgery.

"He literally laughed out loud when we put him in his car seat," Stacy Halstead said . "He was so happy to be out of the house."

According to Halstead, her son, Tripp, had new hardware that will help hold his hips in place. In a Facebook update, she also said doctors took bone from his legs to reinforce his hip sockets.

Tripp was injured when a tree limb fell on his head outside his Winder day care in 2012.

According to Halstead, they went to Target and walked around and then went to the movies. "I was able to prop my feet up on the seat in front of me and hold Tripp during the movie," Halstead said.

Tripp has talked more Saturday and just smiled, according to Halstead.

"Thank you for all your prayers and support," Halstead said. "Love you all."

Stacy's evening post: January 30th: **I realize his car seat picture is not correct. Clip needs to be lower and straps...
