‘He lived life to the fullest:’ Friend remembers businessman found dead in Fulton County

EAST POINT, Ga. — A pair of business partners who vanished in East Point in February have both been found dead.

Kenny Guerra, 35, and Jason Salter, 39, were last seen together on Feb. 25 in East Point. Both were fathers and owned a printing shop in south Fulton County.

“I think he had such a zest for life,” said Karina Garcia, a longtime friend of Guerra. “I think one thing that really stuck with me was carpe diem – seize every day, live every moment, soak it up, live it, and he lived life to the fullest.”

Salter’s remains were identified on April 15. The medical examiner identified Guerra’s remains on May 4. Both were found on a farm in Chattahoochee Hills.

“I can’t say why, how,” Garcia said. “I don’t have any answers.”

She said it’s hard to fathom who would have hurt the men. “When I have a brief moment in my day, it’s running through my mind, I’m contemplating what could have happened,” Garcia said. “What was his last day like? Because this was completely unexpected.”

Garcia said she met Guerra a decade ago while the two were working at a dental office in Midtown Atlanta. Guerra was the father of three children, and he had ambitions of becoming an actor. “It’s something he wanted to pursue,” she said. “He wanted to bring his children into the field as well.”

Garcia last spoke with Guerra in February, not long before the two men disappeared.

“He would always tell me how proud of me he was. That was the last thing he said to me: ‘I’m so proud of how far you’ve come, way to go, good job.’ The last thing I told him was how much I loved him,” she said.

Investigators have not identified any suspects or a motive in the men’s disappearance and they have not released their cause of death. Garcia urges anyone with information about this case to call the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

“He had no enemies,” she said of Guerra. “He was friends with everyone. He’d give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He was such a caring person.”
