ATLANTA — If you’re looking for free things to do in Atlanta during the week or over the weekend, check out these places that will give you a fun experience but keep your wallet intact.
Watch Lasershow 2.0 Spectacular in Mountainvision, projected on the largest granite outcrop in the world. While viewers are relaxing on a terrace, the show features bright lights, iconic music, lasers, extravagant fireworks and insane fire effects, all while offering a gorgeous view of the mountain. In an upgrade from last year’s show, 2.0 offers music-synced robotic drones. What more could you ask for? The show takes place at 9:30 p.m. daily. While the show is free, daily parking is $15.
Have a thing for nature, exercise and relaxation? The Chattahoochee River hiking trails are the place to be. Take a boat ride, get your fishing poles, grab your shoes for a run or get your legs ready to climb on a hiking trail through the 48-mile-long, 10,000-acre chain of parks that stretches from the river’s dam at Lake Lanier. Some of the popular trails in the recreational area include East Palisades Trail, Sope Creek Trail, Cochran Shoals Trail, West Palisades Trail at Paces Mill Park, Vickery Creek Trail at Roswell Mill, Powers Island Trail, Cochran Shoals to Sope Creek, Jones Bridge Park Trail, Gold Branch Trail at Bull Sluice Lake and Island Ford Trail.
