SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Residents of a Sandy Springs neighborhood were overnight due to a nearby SWAT situation.
Dozens of officers responded to a home on Old Woodbine Road, where police say a man inside threatened to hurt his mother.
Police said the woman called around 10 p.m. Wednesday and said her son, Edward Quenzer, was behaving irrationally and threatened her with a stun gun when she contacted police.
She was able to get out of the home, but her son remained inside and refused to come out, police said. The woman said her son has been displaying symptoms of paranoia and schizophrenia.
Just before 4:30 a.m., SWAT members stormed the home and removed Quenzer without incident.
