ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — :
The sheriff's office tells Channel 2 Action News a suspect is in custody.
The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a driver who hit and killed a 27-year-old man Wednesday morning.
Authorities said the hit and run occurred between 4:15 and 4:45 a.m. on Highway 138.
Nikolas Truskosky was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery. He died from his injuries.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle involved was a gray or silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck between model years 2005 and 2011. It has front-end damage and is missing the Toyota emblem.
Family members said Truskosky was on his way to get coffee before going to work when he was hit.
"My brother was actually just doing his normal routine. He had just transferred to first shift. He was heading down to QuikTrip to get his coffee and walking down to his job," Zach Truskosky said.
Nikolas Truskosky's family said he moved to Georgia a few years ago for a fresh start. They said he was doing good work in the family business and had been training in construction.
“He was doing a really good job. He was just a fun-loving kid,” said John Truskosky, the victim’s father.

Family members said Nikolas Truskosky had a 4-year-old son who will now have to grow up without his father.
“If they would have stopped and offered aid … you know accidents happen. We know that, but when you leave and you know you’ve hurt somebody, that’s not excusable,” John Truskosky said.
Family members are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
"I just really want him to come forward, him or her, whoever it was to come forward just so we can have closure, know what happened, how it went down, what went on, just for the family. Everybody needs to understand what happened," John Truskosky said.
Anyone with information on the case should contact the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.
