ATLANTA — A Buckhead Waffle House failed its latest health inspection.
The restaurant on Piedmont Road near Sydney Marcus Boulevard received a 60 on its Fulton County inspection on March 6.
Waffle House Inc. says the score the restaurant in Lindbergh Plaza received is unacceptable.
The company says it apologizes to customers and has made every effort to correct the violations.
“I think 60 is pretty low,” said customer Tameka Richardson. “If they're not keeping it sanitized, there's no telling how our food’s going to be prepared.”
The violations included “a jacket in the ice machine,” “heavy debris on the walls of the ice machine” and “raw ham stored next to cheese.” The report also says the inspector “did not observe any employee washing their hands during the inspection.”
In all, 17 violations were noted.
A Waffle House spokesperson sent Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge an email saying, “All of the violations have been corrected and the area vice president and our food safety department are providing additional coaching to the associates at the restaurant.”
Waffle House went on to say it is truly sorry this restaurant didn't live up to their standards.
Waffle House also says it strives to provide a clean and safe restaurant for its customers. We'll report the updated score when that location is re-inspected.
