SMYRNA, Ga. - Smyrna police are looking for two men involved in the robbery and fatal shooting of an Atlanta woman in the parking lot of Doc's Food and Spirits early Monday morning.

The victim, Ebone Driskell, 32, and a male companion left the bar around 1:15 a.m. when they were confronted at the victim's car.

"She was with an acquaintance who was already being robbed. Ms. Driskell was already inside her vehicle when the suspect jumped in. They fought over the gun he was pointing at her, and she was shot during that struggle," said Smyrna police spokesman Officer Ed Cason.

Cason said the gunman shot the victim once in the stomach. She died shortly afterward on the pavement after witnesses attempted CPR.

The two robbers sped off in her Ford Taurus, which was found abandoned in another parking lot about a quarter mile from the crime scene.

Police patrolled the bar Monday night as customers left and headed to their cars.

A bar customer who wished to remain anonymous told Channel 2's Tom Regan she came out right after the shooting.

"It's just devastating to me, cause I always come to Doc's. You would never think anything like this would happen here," the bar patron said.

The owner of the bar, a fixture in Smyrna, said her workers rushed out to help.

"We've been here 32 years and nothing like this ever happened. I mean the parking lot is lit up. We've got security. It's sad. And all I can say is our hearts go out to her and her family." said bar owner Ellen Thompson.

Police are inspecting the victim's car for potential and reviewing security camera video to see if there are images that can help to identify the attackers.
