MILTON, Ga. — A bronze horse statue in a roundabout in the community of Crabapple suffered several broken legs over the weekend, and Milton police are searching for the person who knocked it down.

Police say the statue stood at the intersection of Mayfield Road, Heritage Walk and Charlotte Drive. It honors Mark Law, the City Arborist who envisioned it and other improvements around Milton.

The horse was installed last year after Law’s family partnered with the Milton Arts Council and a GoFundMe that raised more than $11,000. They also funded other art projects Law had designed.

Police say the statue was last seen standing at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday and was found damaged just hours later around 6:45 a.m.
