ROSWELL, Ga. — Roswell police say a man is dead and a woman is critically injured after a driver laying drag sped away from a traffic stop.
Police said they were on a BOLO regarding a group of vehicles traveling together and driving recklessly.

An officer patrolling the Holcomb Bridge Rd. area spotted them shortly after midnight near Georgia 400. The officer saw an Infiniti G37 laying drag.

The officer turned on his lights and siren and tried to stop the car, which immediately sped away. The officer started to chase the car, but backed off around the intersection of Calibre Creek Parkway. The car kept going.
Shortly thereafter, officers found the vehicle crashed near Scott Road. Two people in the car, a man and a woman, had been ejected. Two others were able to get out of the car, and police said they immediately got into another car that sped off.

Both the ejected victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition, where the man died. Their identities have not been released.
