Movie theater asks Star Wars fans to leave masks at home

A movie theater is warning Star Wars fans to leave their masks at home for the premiere of the new movie in December.

AMC Movie Theaters posted a statement on their website asking movie-goers not to wear their Darth Vader of Stormtrooper masks to the theater.

“AMC does not permit weapons or items that would make other guests feel uncomfortable or detract from the movie-going experience,” the company posted.

They said guests are welcome to wear costumes, just not the masks.

“In short, bring your lightsaber, turn it off during the movie, and leave the blaster and Darth Vader mask at home,” the company said.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters on Dec. 18.
