Mother accused of using Brillo pad on son's eyes, face

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — A woman has been arrested after she allegedly used a Brillo pad to scrub away makeup from her 12-year-old son's face.

Veridiana Pardo Meo Erbskorn, 47, told Coweta County sheriff's officials that her son was going through a "rock-n-roll stage" and that she didn't approve.

The sheriff office confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that she used the steel wool cleaning pad to remove makeup from her son's face and eyes.

A relative of Erbskorn called the sheriff’s office to report it and deputies later found soap and the Brillo pad at the home.

The boy was taken to the Piedmont Newnan Hospital emergency room. The boy’s father told deputies that the soap was found in his right eye socket, cheek, eyebrow and ear. The boy reportedly said his face was sore and his vision was blurry.

Hospital staff told deputies that the boy’s eyeball was scratched, but they weren’t sure if the damage was permanent.

Erbskorn was charged with two counts of child cruelty, reckless conduct and battery.
