Molotov cocktail at school turns out to be water bottle

ATLANTA — Atlanta police said reports of a Molotov cocktail found outside a southeast Atlanta high school turned out to be a water bottle that someone set on fire Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said the item was burning outside of Crim Open Campus High School on Clifton Street.

SWAT and Homeland Security officials were notified about the incident. A bomb squad was quickly dispatched to the school which was placed on lock down.

There were no reports of injuries.

Police are investigating the incident. They have not identified the person responsible for the situation.
