Missing Morehouse College student found safe

ROSWELL, Ga. — A missing Morehouse College student has been found safe.

The Roswell Police Department says Benjamin Jones was found at a MARTA station around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Detectives say they believe Jones left voluntarily and there is no indication of any foul play.

Jones' father told Channel 2 Action News that he last spoke to his son earlier this month when he left to go get graduation tickets. He later found out his son did not complete requirements to graduate.

Roswell police said that due to the disappointment of not graduating from Morehouse, Jones felt like he needed to get away from things.

He parked his car at the North Springs MARTA station and traveled to various locations. Police said Jones claims his phone was broken and lost on May 17, and he believes it was picked up by a stranger.

Police received a tip Wednesday night that Jones had been at the Five Points MARTA station. That led investigators to Jones at the Doraville station.

He was convinced to go home to his family. Police said he will not face any charges.
