McDonough mayor apologizes for military flag citations

MCDONOUGH, Ga. — A Henry County business owner will fly flags supporting the military without any trouble after successfully fighting two tickets.

McDonough code enforcement officers sent the owner of CJ's Hot Dogs two tickets in the mail for flying too many flags on top of his restaurant.

Darren Miller said he didn't know he needed a permit to support the armed forces.

"They should have never been issued. The guy never came in my restaurant to tell me I needed to get a permit for them," Miller said.

Mcdonough Mayor Billy Copeland apologized personally to Miller and code enforcement officials voided the citations.
