MACON, Ga. — A motorcyclist was injured late last week when he crashed head-on into a deputy’s patrol car while trying to run from deputies on a stolen motorcycle.
A deputy with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the rider of the stolen motorcycle after he struck the rear of a marked Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit while operating the motorcycle recklessly.
Deputies say the rider was operating the bike without a helmet on Williamson Road.

The pursuit ended on Rice Mill Road after the cyclist drove on the wrong side of the road in a blind curve and hit a responding deputy’s marked H.E.A.T. unit head-on.
The deputy, that was injured in the crash, gave the 22-year-old cyclist medical aid until EMS arrived at the scene.
The sheriff’s office did not specify the extent of the injuries to either the deputy or the cyclist.
