CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga.,None — Law enforcement authorities across Georgia and Alabama are looking for someone who has been cashing fake checks at several Walmart stores.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, a man has been cashing the checks at metro Atlanta Walmarts, including locations in Woodstock, Cartersville, Kennesaw, Acworth, Cumming, Lawrenceville and Alpharetta. The account numbers of the counterfeit checks represent an account at the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Ten checks have been cashed totaling around $7,000.
Cherokee County deputies are assisting the Tuscaloosa, Ala. Sheriff's Office with the investigation. Anyone who recognizes the man shown in surveillance footage is asked to call Tuscaloosa Sheriff's Office investigators at 205-464-8646.
