AUGUSTA, Ga. — A Georgia Goodwill store made a startling discovery: an employee found a loaded gun in a donated coat.
Deputies say a worker found a .22-caliber handgun at the Augusta Goodwill store.
Deputies are still trying to track down the owner through the serial number.
Goodwill officials tell Channel 2 they'll receive about three firearms donated throughout their 35-county service area in a typical year.
Among other unusual items, Goodwill says they also receive donations of alcohol and in one case, even a tombstone. They discard the unhygienic and unsaleable items, and alert law enforcement when necessary.
