ATLANTA — The holiday shopping season hasn’t ended yet, and many shoppers rushed to stores Tuesday to buy those last-minute Christmas gifts.
Channel 2′s Aaron Diamant has been out and about in metro Atlanta where people are finishing up their lists.
“Each year, I say I’m going to do better. Each year, I’m out here at the same time at the last minute,” Dewitt Hoffer said.
It’s a good thing Hoffer has plenty of experience with being up against the Christmas Eve clock. He wasn’t alone.
Shoppers that Diamant spoke with had all sorts of reasons for the last-minute shopping.
Lenetta Boling said she was out Tuesday for her grandchildren.
"It is a tradition for my grandbabies. They always give me what they want at the last minute,” Boling said.
Brian Smith took his nieces on a shopping spree at Best Buy’s.
“I mean, I’d just rather take them out and get them, you know, buy something and let them pick out what they want than try to pick out something that they’ll probably just throw away or something," Smith said.
It’s not just the gift shopping that many waited until the last minute for. Molly Strozier stopped by Walmart to do grocery shopping.
“I got some ham. My husband wanted some ham and some salad mixings, and we’re just going to have good Christmas with family,” she said.
Strozier didn't want to just focus on getting bogged down with checking boxes on her to-do list,
“Today, I did think while I was rushing around. I said. ‘I need to write a gratitude list.’”
She wasn't the only one with a list like that.
“I’m grateful to be alive. I’m grateful for the friends and family that I have. I’m grateful to the way God has blessed me," Boling said.
