• Large tree falls onto Cobb family's home

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - High water has caused police to close several roads in Cobb County and also caused a frightening incident for a Smyrna family.

Smyrna police and firefighters helped evacuate a mother and her three children after a large tree fell onto the family's home on Creatwood Trail around 9 a.m.

The tree caused significant structural damage to the small ranch-style home off Atlanta Road.

“I just give praise to God, because he’s the one that kept us safe,” the mother told Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt.

The family is looking for another place to stay. Authorities said no one was hurt during the incident.
