ATLANTA — Police say a killer is on the loose after stabbing a man inside a gated apartment community in Atlanta.
Investigators told Channel 2's Darryn Moore the victim was hanging out with friends when a fight broke out and a man pulled a knife.
The incident happened at the Deerfield Gardens Apartments on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta. When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-twenties dead.
Investigators told Channel 2 Action News the victim got into a verbal confrontation with his killer.
"We're not sure what the argument was really about. Everything was contained into one of the units down in the apartment complex," said Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton.
Police said the victim was guest inside the unit and the suspect got away before officers showed up.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as 27-year-old Nicholas Roberts of Atlanta.
Officers are searching for the killer but say they are close to identifying him.
