Kennesaw woman who volunteered with Red Cross, USO during World War II turns 103

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Kennesaw woman is celebrating a big milestone: her 103rd birthday!

Marge Hatcher turns 103 Wednesday. Her assisted living facility Canterfield of Kennesaw is having a party for her, family and friends this afternoon.

Hatcher spent her life traveling the world with her husband, who served as a colonel in the U.S. Army. The couple had two sons and one daughter together.

Hatcher volunteered her time with the American Red Cross and USO clubs in the Philippines and Japan during World War II.

Canterfield of Kennesaw said Marge has been a huge sports fan for her whole life and especially loves her Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs.

At the assisted living home, she is known for enjoying Bingo games, happy hour and exercise.

“She has a zest for life and a great sense of humor. We are so lucky to know her and are blessed to celebrate another year with her!”
