ATLANTA — Powerball delayed its historic $2.04 billion drawing Monday night because of a technical issue with lottery data.
Powerball officials posted the drawing on its YouTube page around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Powerball requires all 48 lotteries that participate to submit their sales and play data prior to the winning numbers being selected, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association statement.

One of the lotteries said it needed extra time to complete security protocols. The association said it is against their policy to name the lottery that is experiencing the delay.
However, Georgia Lottery officials confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that they are not the state with the technical issues.
Georgia Lottery officials said they have been ready to go since Monday night.

Players have been told to hold onto their tickets until the drawing is held.
The winning numbers and recorded video of the drawing will be posted to the Powerball website and YouTube channel. As of Tuesday morning, the Multi-State Lottery Association and Powerball have not announced when it will be posted.
“Like the rest of America, Powerball is eager to hold its drawing for the world record jackpot, however, protecting the integrity of the draw is of upmost importance, even if that means a further delay,” the statement said.
