STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — The FAA is investigating a small plane crash near an airport in Henry County.
Henry County police say the airplane attempted to take off from Berry Hill Airport in Stockbridge, but stalled as it tried gaining altitude. They say it landed near the Miller’s Mill Road and Kittyhawk Drive before coming to rest in a ditch.
According to the FAA, the single-engine Cessna 172 struck some power lines around 5:40 p.m.
They say the pilot aborted the initial approach to the airport and was making a second attempt when the accident occurred.

Crews say they found a single engine plane on the ground in a ditch.
Two people, a pilot and a passenger, were on board the plane when it crashed. One of them was treated on scene for minor injuries.
Police say the FAA will complete their investigation on Tuesday.
