Henry Co. police issued new badges honoring fallen officers

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Henry County police officers received new badges this week, designed to keep the memories of their fallen peers close to their hearts.

The Shield Ceremony was held at the Henry County High School Performing Arts Center on Monday.

Each badge has the officer’s employee number molded on the front with the names of three fallen officers engraved on the back.

“We are very pleased with the final product of the badge,” Chief Keith Nichols said. “The new badge still pays honor to the three Henry County officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty with their names engraved on the backside of the badge closest to the officer’s heart”

The engravings honor Sgt. Gilbert, Officer Haist and Officer Daniel.
