Hardee's restaurant fails recent health inspection

CONYERS, Ga. — A fast-food restaurant in Rockdale County got an unsatisfactory health inspection score.

The Hardee's on Flat Shoals Road in Conyers was told in its inspection that they must employ a certified food safety manager by the middle of April. If they don't, their permit could be suspended.

The restaurant received a failing inspection score of 64 on their latest inspection.

The 10 violations found March 13 include the person in charge not performing their duties to prevent food-borne illness risk factors. The inspector said he observed an employee touch raw chicken with gloved hands, then touch biscuits. Other violations included the cold foods not held cold enough and heavy grease built up under the fryers.

It appears that the Hardee's is inspected about once a year. Their previous inspection was last November when the Hardee's received a score of 82, which is a B.

Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge went to the restaurant to ask about the violations. No one from the company would talk on camera, but they did tell Sbarge everything has been corrected.

We'll let you know what their new score is when they are reinspected.
