Police say gunman arrested in teen's shooting death

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A third and final suspect has been arrested in the murder of a Gwinnett County teenager.

Police said 18-year-old Corey Bryant was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail Tuesday night. Police say he was the shooter who killed 19-year-old Jacquorrius Madison during a fight along Grove Street in Loganville on Saturday.

The two other suspects, Joshua Cook and Terrance Thornton, both 17, were arrested this week.

Bryant, the accused shooter, was all alone in court Wednesday.

When the judge asked Bryant if he had an attorney, Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes said the teen replied, "My mom got one for me."

They are all charged with murder and armed robbery. Authorities said the shooting was likely drug related.

Police believe the suspect tried to steal marijuana from Madison.

Madison put up a fight and Bryant shot him in the chest, police said.

Detectives believe Thornton drove the getaway car.

"It sucks that he was driving the car, because he could have just easily gotten out of that situation and been at school today with us," classmate Ian Horton told Channel 2’s Rikki Klaus.

Thornton is listed on the Chamblee Charter High School’s website as a member of the spring 2017 varsity baseball team. Cook was a football player at Arabia Mountain high school and was making plans to play in college.
