GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Firefighters evacuated Gwinnett Place Mall Thursday afternoon after a fire inside one of the stores.
Crews found the smoldering fire in a shoe repair machine inside the Heel Quick suite of the second floor of the mall.
Firefighters quickly put out the flames, and say the worker who was at the machine when it caught fire was not injured.
Smoke from the fire poured into the Mall Atrium, forcing the evacuation.
Thursday evening, fire crews were still working to clear the remaining smoke from the building.
