ATLANTA — Beloved Georgia singer Zac Brown broke down in tears in a video posted to Instagram talking about the impact of coronavirus is having on his life.

In a video posted to his personal Instagram page, he explained because he’s unable to tour, he was forced to let go of most of crew members that he’s been touring with for years.

"It was a hard day today. For the last 15 years my crew, who I carry with me out on the road to play my shows and do what we do, I’ve had to let go of about 90 percent,” Brown said.

It was when he started describing what they mean to him when the emotions took over.

“The people I travel with and do my business with and the people I high-five on the way out to the stage and the people who have done all their jobs, and done them well,” Brown said.

The Zac Brown Band announced last week that it was postponing the spring dates of their Owl Tour, citing “increasing public health concerns” over the spread of COVID-19.

In the personal video, Brown also encouraged people, especially young adults, to stay inside and practice social distancing.

Brown also criticized leaders about their response to the fast-moving deadly virus.

“We’re late to the game. I’m pretty ashamed of the way that our leadership has handled all of this," Brown said.
