Georgia Tech fan released from hospital after stadium fall

ATLANTA — A Georgia Tech fan has been released from the hospital after falling 25 feet inside Bobby Dodd stadium in northwest Atlanta.

The incident happened early in the second quarter of Saturday’s Georgia Tech-Miami game.

Georgia Tech officials said the fan fell from a staircase railing into a service concourse below.

A doctor was nearby and treated the victim until he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The incident comes about three weeks ago a Tennessee football fan fell to his death at the Georgia Dome.

Authorities said 20-year-old Isaac Grubb was celebrating a touchdown against North Carolina State when he fell more than 40 feet from an upper deck.
