1 killed in I-285N four-car crash

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A fatal crash involving four cars on Interstate 285 caused major traffic backups during the Friday evening commute.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-285 at Camp Creek Parkway in south Fulton County sometime before 5 p.m.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a car crashed into an SUV, which struck another car. The third car was knocked into the path of a tractor-trailer, which struck the car on its left side, the GSP said.

Five people were injured, and one person died, the GSP said.

The crash shut down the interstate's northbound lanes for more than an hour while authorities were investigating.
