ATLANTA — The last Powerball drawing of 2015 and the third largest jackpot of the year has tickets quickly printing at stores across the metro.

She said to her buying a ticket was a spiritual experience.

“I think I should get three, one for the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,” she said.

Wednesday’s jackpot is $300 million. The cash payout would be $184.2 million.

“Part of the excitement of playing the lottery is just dreaming what you'd do with that kind of money,” said John Crow with the Georgia Lottery.

Some buyers said win or lose, it is money well spent,

“HOPE Scholarship money is basically what I'm doing. Giving money away to the kids,” one man said.

Crowe says the large jackpot is great for the state's children.

“It means increased sales for the Georgia Lottery which helps benefit the HOPE scholarship, Pre-K and education here in the state,” he said.

An investment of $2-$3 if you choose the power play option could net you big rewards.

“That is my wish. To be the recipient of the big money Powerball tonight,” said one buyer.

Though your odds to win the big prize are one in 292 million, make sure you check that ticket.  Every year around $800 million dollars in lottery prizes go uncollected.

You can buy tickets for tonight’s drawing up 9:45 p.m.
