THOMSON, Ga. — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will permanently close the disaster recovery center in McDuffie County at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25.
Until then it will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The center is located at Thomson Depot, at 111 Railroad Street in Thomson, Georgia.

It was opened to provide help for Georgians affected by Hurricane Helene.
You can find your closest recovery center by visiting https://www.fema.gov/drc.
If you are in an affected county, you are encouraged to apply for FEMA disaster assistance. You can online apply at DisasterAssistance.gov.
You can also apply using the FEMA App for mobile devices or by calling 800-621-3362.
The telephone line is open daily and help is available in most languages.
Survivors can also contact the Georgia Call Center at 678-547-2861 Monday through Saturday for assistance with their application.
