Felon charged with raping woman at gunpoint in apartment

NORCROSS, Ga. — Gwinnett police have arrested a man suspected of raping a woman at gunpoint in March.

Police said the victim reported she was awakened at the Bristol Court apartments by a masked man standing over her with a gun. She said he tied her up and raped her.

Police said the attacker went to great lengths to remove evidence of the crime, including collecting the woman's clothes and bedding and setting them on fire.

Police said DNA evidence found in the apartment and a sketch of a suspicious person seen in the area by a neighbor helped officers locate Lorenzo Bradley. Bradley, a convicted felon, lived at a building in the same complex.

Police said they initially did not have enough evidence to charge Bradley, but he was arrested on May 11 on charges of rape, burglary, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during a crime, aggravated sodomy, battery, criminal trespass and arson.

Bradley is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center on no bond.
