FBI finds murder suspect in Douglasville motel

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Douglas County deputies and Douglasville police surrounded a motel and arrested a North Carolina murder suspect hiding in a room Tuesday.

News Chopper 2 showed a SWAT team enter two rooms at Lee's Motel at the corner of Highway 5 and Rose Avenue.

FBI spokesman Steve Emmett said Mulana Amil Parks, 42, is wanted on murder charges in Greensboro, N.C.

Authorities told Channel 2's Ross Cavitt they tracked Parks cellphone to a Walmart. Agents spotted Parks on surveillance video in the store and knew she was driving a red Honda.

They started canvassing the area and found that Honda at the motel just down the road. Parks surrunderred without incident, police told Cavitt.

Police said Parks killed her boyfriend in her apartment on Oct 16. Kenneth Lee Galloway, 46, was found dead after his roommate reported him missing.

The cause of Galloway's death has not been determined but police said they had enough evidence to rule the case a homicide.

Police told Cavitt that Parks could appear in court as early as Wednesday morning for an extradition hearing.
